An IP address is how one computer recognizes another across the network.
they typically look something like this: 189.191.501.2. You're probably refering to Mike's comments above. The "pro" would be that your boss
couldn't see this page, from his computer (that would keep your boss from reading the windlog when you posted about sailing during hours you were scheduled to work), but he could see it from anybody
elses computer, because it's assigned to specific hardware. The con would be if your boss was a sailing partner. ;*)
