Yes, I agree to put on the swap meet at Rhodes Parking Lot in Murray this year. Location is 5121 S. Murray Blvd. The building is a 2-story red-brick building on the corner of Vine Street and Murray Blvd. The building is on the WEST side of I-215 and it located directly west of Stevens-Henager and north of the old Fun Dome (now sitting vacant) and West of the new IHC Hospital. You can drive there or even take Trax (Rhodes building is 1/2 mile west from the Murray stop). The building will not be open, but there are several gas stations within a couple blocks if you need to use the facilities. My only request is that you don't leave any litter behind (especially old windsurfing and kite gear).

There is a small lawn on the south side of the building where you can lay out your gear, but the simplest solution may be to just open up your trunk or tailgate - sell your gear and go.

Cheers to my fellow wind riders!

Kenny

Thanks again Kenny... PS... Anybody in future thinks you have a better location for the swap... POST IT... Next year we'll post in the "Sports Guide"... Possibly even join up with some of the other swaps.

Hi everyone,

I have uploaded an announcement poster for the UWA swap meet on my web site at:

http://Photographers1.com/UWA-SwapMeet.html

Please, please, please...if you want people to show up to buy your equipment, go to that page using your browser and print several copies of the announcement out in color; then take them out and post them at every Sporting Goods Store, Laundromat, Marine Store, Army/Navy Supply, Hock Shop, Rental Shop, Kite Shop, Marina, Launch Site, etc. You get the idea.
As soon as you have posted the notice, please return to this message post and tell where it has been posted so others won't go to the same location.
We need more buyers at the meet and this will help get them there.
Would someone please post an announcement for the swap meet on the radio and tv station web sites under their "Events" or "Calendar" section and the let us know here where they have been posted? That ought to help, too.

If we'll all pitch in and do a little, we'll accomplish a lot. This is your organization. Participate!
If you have other ideas, post them.

Thanks, Rick McClain

Thanks to everyone that put this event together, there's nothing like the opportunity to buy things I never knew I needed at rock bottom prices. As usual on the drive home I remembered the things I really did need. Looking forward to next year's meet.

Congratulations on adding to your stash Vaughn! Have fun at Sand Hollow... By the way, what are you guys mostly sailing down there?

PS... Kenny, the location is awesome... I don't think I've ever seen so much gear sell! Thanks again. Rick.

Rick, we're mostly sailing with 5.0-6.0's on 105 Gecko & a 130 something Bic Veloce. It's a small quiver but keeps getting bigger with each swap meet. Next board will be something floaty and wide that the wife and newbies can learn easier on.
