Now that snow is pretty much over I need to get equipped for water. I have a good quiver of kites but only one north 141 board. And the footstraps aren't loose enough for booties. And I need to be at Lincoln beach.
So for a 180lb beginner with one season on snow what size boards would you recommend? I don't know how to pair board sizes with kite sizes.
Thanks!

you're existing board would probably be fine to get started. What is the width and what model? you can buy a set of adjustable straps for probably $30-$35, or just go down to home depot and buy any kind of 1/4" thick 1" diameter plastic discs (like the furniture sliders), drill a hole in them big enough for the screw to go thru and place them under where the straps attach to the pads and board. this will give you the extra room for your booties and will cost under $5.
eventually you might find that you want a a smaller board for everyday riding (something in the 135x42 range) and a bigger board for light wind (this will vary by type, but maybe 148x47ish), but what you have will likely be fine for now as long as you get the straps to fit your feet in booties.
