Got Dings?

My shop is lit up with summer wind riding projects. If you need some repairs, I am your local shaper. Here is a RRD re-shape I did for Mike E. His rack came of his car and smashed up the nose of his wave board. I gave it a blunt look (very cool) and beefed it up with some new foam and carbon fiber. Bomb proof now. Give me a call if you need any repair work.

Very sweet repair Don, we've really needed a guy like you around for a long time. Best wishes for much continued
business success with your Kite Boards. Have you ever given consideration to maybe shaping a really thin
(like Kite Board thin, but thick enough to add a mast track and skeg box to) ~55 ltr windsurf board. I think
with the proper planform we might get a 55 ltr board that rides like a 90 ltr board (once planed up). I've
seen this tried before, but the longitudinal and torsional stability weren't good in the board I tried. Some
fairly dramatic caves on the bottom might resolve that and provide a very cushy ride in psycho chop.
Just thinking out loud,
-Craig

Yes! I like how you are thinking. With lots of carbon fiber.... and lots of ribs in the deck of the board I could make a stiff and torsionally strong, but still some flex features, windsurf board. I think foam is a over rated core. Buoyancy is not important for a high wind riding. For my kiteboards floatyness is not even a consideration. For windsurfing in high winds the same goes. As soon as you have lift from your sail.... the board is just a rudder. Draw something up...let's play with the concept.
