Get August 20, 21 on your social calander early.....We have the reservation for Friday and Saturday night, so bring along your tent, trailer, or whatever, and have a nice 3 day (hopefully wind loving) weekend in Wyoming. Let's all pray to the wind gods for some good wind that weekend!

I'm not sure if our famous Crawdad Chef Rick will be available this year, but we'll try to contact him, for the event.

Our local freestyle specialist Josh, is also trying to arrange a "special guest appearance". I'll let him tell more about that, if he get's it put together. So check back soon for more info.

Oh, ps... I've got the HIGH RES projector this year... So, if somebody has some killer Sailing/Kiting vids to bring, I'll have the set up Friday or Saturday night...

You should take a Blu-Ray player and play the High Def "UWA in the Gorge Disk" we ran at the Opener.

I know you're into the Hi Def thing... We got the Epson - PowerLite Home Cinema 8100 Projector... It's got an amazing image for the money... What are you running btw?

However, I don't have a Blue Ray Player... Yet! Not looking forward to replacing all my SD vids. This projector down scales to SD incredibly well. If somebody has a PS3 for blue ray, bring it.

If you call uphauling a freestyle move then I think I have it covered.

I was thinking of hauling up my fleet of beginner boards and holding a one-design race. 4 people on the same boards. Even the odds. We can just switch the boards around each heat. They glide in really light wind.

Well, I gave Rick an SD copy also, so if you don't find a blu-ray player, you can still watch
UWA people frolicking in the swell.

Where can I find a little more info on this trip? The exact location (never been there), what the camping is like, what is nearby, how big will the group be, what are the riding conditions there? My noobness makes me a little nervous with new places. Wondering if people are bringing their kids, or just a big boy weekend? I have a friend who has been asking to come ride, would this be a good place/time for him to learn? I just rode at the matanzas inlet in Florida this week and man I am charged!

You've kinda got a Kite boarder vibe to ya. Kiters have come (I've got video of Doug Cox one year and I
actually did set my Kite up one year, though I never rode it), but the launch is marginal under the
typical wind conditions. There will be about 15 to 25 windsurfers, unless the conditions look good, then a lot more.
Kids are cool, but I recommend not parking /camping too close to the evening activities as it can get a little loud
& "festive".

The water, even on a 4.5 (sail) day, is flat and cold even in August. If your friend is coming to learn to Windsurf,
then yeh, he'll love it, but it's not a great place to learn to Kite.

I have received a few requests on how to get there as well.

Here are directions from Evanston WY.
If you don't know how to get to Evanston, head East on I-80 to the Utah/Wyoming border. Evanston is the first town you will come across.

Exit on the Mirror Lake Highway, which is on the east side of town. I think that is the second exit.

On to other news the schedule:

Friday night will be movie night. Rick H is planning on setting up a movie theater experience to watch his home movies, I mean windsurfing movies.
Also on Friday evening, Andy Brandt (of ABKBoardSports) will be stopping by for a Q&A session.
If you have questions bring them, because he will answer them.
Questions like:
"Why can't I jibe?
Why can't I get on a plane?
How do I loop?
How do I go faster?
I have got this rash right back here, what should I do about it?. etc..."

Saturday day
Catch crawdads.
Saturday evening - eat the crawdads.

Windsurf when it gets windy both Saturday and Sunday.

One more thing.

Please help us out by bringing a couple gallons of water for the feast.

We need about 20 gallons of clean drinkable water.

If each family brings 2 to 5 gallons we should have plenty.

Hey Josh -- are you gonna bring those big beginner boards? Pleeeeeease

My husband John (240#) would like to try it and they would be fun to tool around on if the wind is wimpy -- we're bringing a kayak and an extra paddle, too.

Also, if you could bring that Chinook extension that we talked about before, I'll have moolah.
