As you might know Sals truck was stolen and his kite gear was inside, Someone has posted an ad for his kite, Please do not respond to this ad. Sal and I are going to get it tonight, We contacted the police and they are not of any help, Not sure what asswipes we are dealing with and if anyone else can show up with us at around 8:30 in the Draper area to deal with these criminals. I have a time set up with the girl selling it and have her address at 8:30 tonight

can you give us a recap of how the meeting went? did you finally get the police to show up?

also, love the ad: "like new,about 20ft wide must sell new baby wife is making me sell." what kiter would describe the size as "about 20ft wide"?

Sal and I met up a few blocks from the house with the kite. We decided after seeing some badass bikers at a house nearby that we would involve cops. They showed up just in time for Sal to fill out a report and explain the lack of response from the West Jordan Police. They agreed to let me go alone to the door and get what turned out to be a MUTHER hoding a baby to show me the kite. (looked like a meth mom to me) I ask if I could look at the kite and unfold it on the front lawn. I asked her why she was selling it and if she kited, She mumbles something about it being her sisters then the story that her cat got sick and she needed the money. Then I asked if she had any other kite gear for sale. She didn't. She then says that she bought it at a yard sale for 400 bucks thinking it was something that you fly behind a boat. The ad leads to beleive that the husband has to sell because of new baby. Anyway the cops arrive just as I get it layed out on the lawn. I then go and get Sal from down the street. He Identifyies the patch that was also on the picture that we drew for the cops before getting there. At this point we are told to wait in my truck out front of the house.They talked with her for about 45 min. While we were there a guy and girl drive up slow in a truck eyeing whats going on at the house. It was obvious that they were waiting for the cops to leave. I thoght this odd, if the cops were at my mine or one of my friends house I would want to know what the hell was up and hurry in. We mention this to the cops and they question the guy as we are leaving. The cops took the kite as evidence and sent us on our way with little info. They did not haul her off like they should have. I doubt much will happen to her. I am sure that this is part of the plan in fencing of there stolen items. They had a yard sale sign layed down in there front yard that looked as if it was ready to set up on any given weekend. It might be interesting to see what they sell at yard sales. Also they had a couple other items listed on KSL. They were listed as though they were in Centerville though.

Sweet! Nice going Mark... Who knows how many other crimes you helped to prevent by doing that... But yeah, it's pretty sad the people that get off scott free even after being that busted. I've seen it too many times...

My mom's purse was just smashed and grabbed out of her friend's car last night.
Cops really aren't doing much apparently.
