I am thinking with Goudies call for Friday afternoon/Saturday Stiff south breeze, I am making the Run on Saturday A.M.
Weather underground also predicts Saturday for Yuba
Breezy. Partly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the upper 80s. South winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to southwest 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon.

Anyone been to YUBA this year? how is the water level, sand, etc?

I was there on Sunday with Jason and Lynn Klien. There was wind...I rigged 11m which deflated. So I launched my 13. I was LIT like a Christmas tree for the next 2 hours. Good time though. Went back out on Jason's 8 m and came back in after 30 mins or so as it was sooooooooo gusty. Windsurfers might be better off. Beach was in great shape, water was good for a 2mm top. Water level was easy to drive to on the north end of the lake. Beware of sand traps if you have 2wd. It's doable, but you want some speed in certain places. Seems like early wind is smoother there? I've only been there about 5x. Hope that helps, maybe I'll see you there!

Yuba tends to be gusty on the strong south pushes, and this saturday will fit into that. I'm seeing much stronger wind than you noted. It'll probably be similar to last week when i was there with pepe. this page showing 26-40 for saturday. sunday looks a little friendlier.

Hey Rick,
It was like the good old Yuba, blew from 10am till Louis and I left at 5. 20-30 the whole time. Smallest sails we had were 6.0s and 145 ltr boards. It was almost Southwest the whole time so almost off shore on the west side. Fun for some up and down rides with small waves.. Very gusty, Louis broke his boom at the mast connection at the end of the day, a nice boater pulled him in. Sand in every possible orifice on our bodies. I took 2 showers, still found sand. :oo
Let's hook up for a fin exchange, maybe a September DC thermal?
Good to hear from you!
