Rush Lake is Back

I'm sure many of you thought I was dead but Mikey is back along with Rush Lake. I let my 15 year old daughter drive us out to Rush, good training in preparation for the real license in a few months. To my surprise, Rush has a very healthy water level, at least compared to the last 5 - 10 years. Near beach front housing is now a reality a Rush. Our regular dirt road at South West end has been upgraded to a nice quite paved cul-de-sac with 2 finished homes. Our dirt road has big rock in the middle of it, so we should be good neighbors and use the BLM road . I know some of you young kids don't know any thing about the BLM road. It's the road just north of the 60 yr old trailer and the fenced off coral. The one with railroad ties for fence posts that go almost down to the water. With the above average snowpack I think this could be a banner year for Rush. See ya on the water!

Yahooooooo!!! That's some of the best news I've heard in a long time. With the best, most frequent, most predictable winds, and short drive, Rush Lake was greatly missed and will soon be appreciated again.
Thanks for the good news and great report.

So do ya think it would support the depth of a windsurf skeg?

-Craig

p.s. liquid water in Rush and Liquid water at UL and at DeerCreek (with a little snow on the beach), looks like it's time
to start up the summer forecasts. Look for those starting next week.

When the two beach front homes have water lapping at their front door, Rush will be ready for windsurfing. I can't understand putting a cul-de-sac so close to the lake. I guess they haven't seen photos from the 80's when Rush was deep enough for boating.

I personally look forward to going out to my favorite little mud hole...

I hate to be a buzzkill, but Is there any truth to a rumor I heard about the city of Stockton building 4 sewage settlement ponds just to the east of the lake?
I know that about 2 years ago, Stockton put in a sewer system, requiring residents to discontinue use of septic tanks.
Anyone have more info?

Party pooper! :||

RadioActiveNerveGas with Poop on top! :lol:

I'm not too worried... I kind of doubt that they'll run the poop right through rush. They'll probably direct the dung pipe... the bung tube... Not sure what to name it if it is going to be there... he he... But I like what you've initiated here Daren. ;)) I would think that it'd be piped over to the GSL... Sewage treatment would be better than just sending the earthen colored kayaks into Rush... One thing is probably certain... If we've sailed in Rush like it was, we'll probably keep sailing/riding in it regardless as long as they allow it.

Can't wait to see people sailing/riding around with huge hasmat suits and masks on.

I'll have to ask around see if anybody knows. Do we want to know?!
