UWA Sulphur Creek Campout and Crawfish Cookout - August 21st and 22nd 2009
The Campout has been scheduled for August 21st and 22nd. Please put it on your calanders! The fun starts Friday and doesn't finish, until Sunday, when the wind stops blowing. All water lovers are invited! Newb kiters be advised that it's been called "Not a good place for Newbs" Kayaks and SUP's would be great options.
IF you have equipment, for when the wind does not blow, bring that too. In the past, we have played some serious Bacci Ball, Volleyball, horseshoes, running off the dock, across as many windsurf boards as you can.....and so on.
Crawdad Catchers Get Ready! If you have the catching devices, bring um! We did some damage last year to the crawdad population, I hope they have recovered.
Evenings include campfires by the Pavilion, where Linda the Schmore whore, uses her power marshmallow roaster, for the best schmores in town.
INFO FOR FIRST TIMERS: We have the the whole parking lot and pavilion to use for the weekend. There are restrooms in the parking lot, but no running water. Bring your own water for drinking, cooking etc. Lake water is optional for bathing (just add a little soap to your wetsuit) and water fights. There are areas for tents, or bring your condo on wheels like we do for extreme comfort. There are some electrical outlets, but only by the Pavilion. DO NOT CAMP CLOSE BY THE PAVILION, IF YOU WANT TO GO TO SLEEP EARLY! The campfire and party can go on well past midnight, and can be a bit noisey. So park far away from the Pavillion, if you like QUIET and SLEEP!
No stores or restaurants close by, Evanston is 10 miles in.
Please ask any other questions, that you have. HOPE TO SEE U THERE!
Please contact Sarah Ranes if you have questions. -

UWA Beginner Day/Utah Lake Festival June 6th 10AM-2PM Provo Boat Harbor--->
The Utah Lake Commission is deciding the future of Utah Lake and its shoreline. We need to be at the Utah Lake Festival with as many rigs and kites as possible to show that we have a presence on the lake. This is VERY IMPORTANT at this stage. The "players" are making the big decisions about the lake right now and it'll be important that Kiters and Windsurfers are seen present at this crucial decision making time.
Please bring your beginner gear and help out. Thanks, Rick Heninger
Please contact Rick Heninger 801-635-6699, if you can help out or have questions. -

Annual Utah Lake Crossing or Carp Rodeo Bonanza - TO BE DECIDED Based upon Weather--->See Details
Saratoga Springs City Marina turn in at Pelican Bay. Last years race or lake cruise was a downwind sail from Saratoga to Provo Boat Harbor. This year is a continuation of that but we are changing course a bit. One big triangle race across, upwind, and back for those ready to go 12 miles or so. (You sail 20+ miles on an average day in the Gorge). And a smaller course for the warming up and/or those who don't want to complete the full crossing. If we're flexible on these events here in Utah, it's not out of the question to have them! Come if you can! Rick Heninger - event cordinator.
