Where to Ride 11/8

Looks pretty windless today. High pressure is still camped over Utah. It looks like it will be pushed out, but it may be too late in the day to get in any rides.

Caveat - Possible late afternoon, sunset rides on gusty pre-frontal winds. Of course, at Skyline the thermal can always kick-in especially since the valley floor is snow-free, but with a high pressure overhead, there is no enhancement to the thermal so if it does happen, it will be light.

Tomorrow is a mixed bag with a better opportunity for wind, but snow in the forecast as well. The current forecast is calling for 2-4", so it may still be rideable.

Surface Conditions: I took a tour of Skyline yesterday. Coverage is pretty good for this early in the year, but another big storm or two are needed to cover up the rocks and bushes. The effective kiteable area is fairly small right now as large patches of sage are still there to entangle your board. Excellent conditions for an EBA* if you are new to the sport.

*EBA = Epic Brush Adventure - dropping your foil kite in the bushes. Makes for a good story and seeing how many curses you can throw at a helpless twig of scrub brush.

Brian/Heather - you are close to the action. If you see something I don't please reply.
