Kenny's Where to Ride 12/24

Today will be another good day at Strawberry. Plan on sunshine and lighter winds in the low to mid teens. Wind will be better for beginners at Chicken Creek East. I am not sure if the lake is frozen there, but if you see ice fisherman out on the ice, it should be safe to ride, just don't go far out and watch for thin ice and/or pressure buckles. There are still sage brush traps, the best bet for dealing with these is a long snowboard and/or long, fat skis. Skyline has better coverage and will have wind in the mid teens and pow under sunny skies. PC should give up some rides, but the wind will be light and possibly intermittent.

Christmas day looks like today, albeit slightly lighter winds.

Saturday is looking iffy.

Here is my silly take on Twas The Night Before Christmas to celebrate this day and the opening of Strawberry. I wanted to include all of your names as we have the best crew around. Have a Merry Christmas!

Twas the day before Christmas and all snowkiters in the know
where headed to Strawberry to play in the snow

Their cars were all packed with delicate care
In hopes that the snowplow would soon guide them there

The lucky few were loading their sleds
while visions of face shots danced in their heads

The air was chilly, the wind about right
The sky deep azure, the snow glistened bright

I put on my boots, when arose such a clatter
twas only a sledneck the peace he must shatter

Then what to my startled eyes did appear?
Why it was Jacob throwing kiteloops without fear

And what is that orange squirrel floating high in the air?
Why it is Billy Bordy gliding with flare

On Marty, On Don, on Ralph, on Mark
On Jason, on Dave, on Jon til long after dark

To the top of the hill and down they would haul
Now slash away, slash away, slash away all!

They rode and they rode covering every inch of the snow
with silly big grins as the wind continued to blow

I heard one exclaim as he packed up his kite
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
