Kenny's Where to Ride 1/21

Another stormy day on tap today. PC will have wind in the mid to upper teens with some snow squalls. Evanston will also be rideable today with wind in the low 20's. Skyline is a big question mark. There will be wind, but will it clear up enough to ride? I would check the UDOT cams before heading out. PowMow looks like an absolute blizzard, it is nuking there this morning. It may clear, if so expect howling winds and swirling snow, visibility will be low. SLC Valley locations will have wind, but snow coverage is probably marginal at best. Rush would work today, I think the elevation is high enough to have been spared the rain, but I have not received an update on Rush coverage all year. Strawberry may also be rideable today on a light East wind with plenty of snow in the forecast.

Friday looks good for PC, Evanston, and Rush again with wind in the upper teens and snow squalls. Upper elevations promise to be a total white out.

Saturday may have some clearing in the afternoon at the upper elevations. Wind looks like it will continue out of the SW making Skyline the most promising destination.

Let's not forget Monte Cristo. All we were waiting for was the snow to fill in and that is happening now. Friday and Saturday could be good. I have pasted the point forecast below. Any wind direction works at Monte-It just doesn't blow hard there very often.

Friday: Snow. Temperature rising to near 27 by noon, then falling to around 23 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a south wind 11 to 14 mph increasing to between 22 and 25 mph. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow. Low around 18. Southwest wind between 10 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Saturday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 22. West southwest wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible
