Kenny's Where to Ride 1/22

There is plenty of gusty south wind today and snow, the trick is finding a place where you will be able to see where you are going. Best bet is going to keep an eye on the udot cams to get an indication of what is going on. Skyline and PowMow promise to both whiteout today. The Skyline reserve however may give up rides, but visibility may be an issue there as well. Monte will have strong wind per Augie's forecast, visibility may be an issue there. Strawberry is likely to whiteout. PC is currently clear, but may whiteout later on, expect wind in the high teens/low twenties. Deercreek should have wind in the upper teens/low twenties and snow squalls. Rush will have super strong wind, expect wind in the high 30's gusting even higher. If you have a valley location with coverage, there will be plenty of wind down in the valley as well today, best bet for visibility will be valley locations.

Saturday will still have snow, but looks like some clearing will occur. Skyline promises to be rideable with wind in the upper teens and some lingering snow squalls. PC looks rideable with wind in the low to mid teens. DC promises wind in the upper teens and some snow. Strawberry will have gusty, light west winds with snow squalls.

Sunday looks very good for Strawberry, Skyline, and Monte.

I was thinking Pineview on Sat possibly. Is there an easy place to check current conditions?

Thanks!

The narrows is just a guess-use the Power plant for an estimate. if the Huntsville gauge is up then you know Pinview is on since that gauge rarely gets up and it is far away from the narrows.

Based on the current forecast, I can't imagine Pineview would be any good tomorrow. It is usually only good on high pressure/inversion days and then looking at the weber power plant as Augie mentioned. I was actually thinking today might be a good day out on the main body of Pineview because of the high south winds forecasted.
