Kenny's Where to Ride 1/29

Start the day with light wind at Pineview. There is a chance that Strawberry may turn on this afternoon as a north wind switch is in the forecast. I would not get my hopes up, but it happened yesterday and might happen again today. Watch for a strong north wind to come up in the early afternoon, if you don't see north wind, it probably won't happen. You might also get some puffs at Skyline and PowMow, but it will be light.

Saturday is looking promising for SE wind at Skyline in the low teens fading late in the day. Might get some rides at PM as well.

Sunday is looking like a decent west wind day with wind in the mid teens at PM and Skyline, possibly Strawberry will have some rideable wind at favored west wind locations (marina, ladders, cabins, and mud creek). Evanston will have mid teens as well.

What meter do you use for Strawberry? I use this: http://mesowest.utah.edu/cgi-bin/droman ... time=LOCAL

and didn't see much of a north switch yesterday. I was told that this meter is the the same as last year, but I don't see it sitting near Strawberry River. Pinion Ridge? Anyone know where that is?

That is the wind meter for Skyline and has nothing to do with Strawberry. I think about the only meter we have for Strawberry this year is Daniels when it is up. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

The north wind is weaker today compared to yesterday, may be enough to help scour the valley a bit, but I would not hold my breath on the wind turning on at Strawberry

I mapped the lat/long in Google. It is halfway between Strawberry and Starvation-- a ways away.
