Your best bets today are Skyline and Strawberry. Strawberry is already cleared out and the wind is already starting up. Expect wind in the mid to upper-teens at Strawberry with snow flurries possible throughout the day. Both cameras are down at Skyline, so I can't see if it has cleared out yet. Should be clear enough to ride, but snow squalls will be a factor throughout the day. Rush and Park City will also deliver rides in the low-teens. Better get today because tomorrow...

Is a howler! Skyline will be a blizzard. Strawberry is your best bet with wind in the mid-twenties and much higher gusts. There is a good chance that Strawberry will white out due to high winds and additional snowfall. Park City may have better visibility or not, because the wind will howl there as well. Same goes for Rush.

Wednesday is shaping up to be a good day at Skyline and Strawberry. That is if the winds on Tuesday don't turn them both into a zastrugi minefield. Don't know what zastrugi is? Lucky you, it means that you were not kiting 5 - 6 years ago when high winds at Skyline turned it into a mess. Zastrugi is a long wave-like ridge of snow formed by high winds. Typically, we don't receive strong enough winds to cause this effect, but there is a good chance that it will happen on Tuesday, especially at Skyline. Think of Bosco covered in moguls and get the idea.

Thanks Leo for posting yesterday and Augie last week. Hey, please post on the windlog. Please include wind speed, surface conditions, and time of day that you rode. I am going to do a drawing this year. I am going to take all the names in the windlog from today until the end of March. I will pull a random name and the winner will receive a 2011 11M Ozone Frenzy. This kite has not had a lot of use because it needs to be tuned. You don't have to be the original poster to win, but you need to be reporting on a session, not just commenting on someone else's session. It is my way of giving back to the great kiting community around here.
