11/22 Craig's Thanksgiving Week Prognostication

Postby Craig Goudie » Sat Nov 22, 2014 8:13 am

I'm getting this out today, because I don't want anyone to miss the honker
coming to Cabinsite this Sunday.

If you start driving this AM(Saturday) you might get to Searchlight, just in time to
watch the 6.5/13M South wind die as you rig, but fear not, a North howler is coming
to Mohave, so just take yourself down the lake to Cabinsite, and prepare for Sunday
(and stay there until Thursday evening).

Sunday, winds howl with 3.5/7M North conditions all day long and big swells toward
the late afternoon under sunny skies and air temps in the high 60s.

Monday, 5.0/10M North conditions late AM until mid afternoon, dwindling by evening
under sunny skies with low 70s air temps.

Tuesday, get out the big gear for more North 8/16M planable afternoon conditions
with sunny low 70s air temps.

Wednesday, winds amp up a bit for 6.0/12M North conditions, and balmy mid to upper
70s air temps under sunny skies.

Thursday, North winds back off, but remain big gear planable in the 8/16M range
PM under sunny skies that approach 80 degrees, then give thanks while grabbing a
cheap and tasty buffet in Laughlin.

Friday, winds switch to light Southerlies with maybe enough punch for huge
formula gear at Searchlight under sunny low 70s skies.

Saturday, light but planable SW 8/16M conditions PM , with air temps building to the low 70s.

Sunday, you won't mind the drive home, as North winds top out below the planing
threshold, under sunny mid 70s skies for your return trip to frigid Northern Utah.

Enjoy your week, I'm headed for a little Moab mountain bike Thanksgiving joy with
my kids and grandkids. After that, I hope to catch you on the slopes.

See ya,

-Craig
