3/16 Kenny's Where to Ride

Summary: 3 windy days on tap with a nuclear day in the middle.

Today is shaping up to be an excellent day at Skyline with wind in the mid to upper-teens under sunny skies. Snow quality should still be very good. Strawberry will have wind, the big question is the quality of the base :?: There have been some very warm temps up there this week and the last time I rode there I noticed a lot of weak spots. Personally, I would go to Skyline and avoid the possibility of breaking through. If you do go to Strawberry, please give us an update on the base and be careful.

Sunday the wind goes nuclear. Your best bet is the morning hours at Skyline with wind ONLY in the mid-twenties. It is threatening to crank in the afternoon with wind in the 30's and much higher gusts. Add to that some snow flurries and it may become a blizzard or it just may be a nukefest. Skyline Reserve might be a good option if the wind is howling up top. Strawberry will also have very high winds and once again the threat of an unsupportable base.

Monday is shaping up to be a nice day at Skyline and PowMow with wind in the mid to upper-teens under clear skies.
