10/1 Craig's Dodge the Rain

Postby Craig Goudie » Sun Oct 01, 2023 9:23 am

There is quite a bit of rain out there, but it looks to give way to partly sunny skies in the PM
so better conditions than I expected today. Grantsville has slightly rainy 5/10 and will
do it's thing until Noon when it will back off and then come back at 1 with more 6/12 until 5.
Willard with 4/8M howling conditions right now will back off to sunnier and warmer 5/10M conditions
by 1 or 2 PM and last until 4 or 5. Yuba might miss the AM rain for 6/12M conditions until 2PM.
DC and Jordanelle with PM 6/12M conditions from 1 until 6 and looking better as the afternoon
rain clears out. Mona with PM 6/12M conditions 2 until 6. Utah Lake with Gusty 7/14M SW conditions
2 until 5. Sulfur Creek with 7/14 M conditions noon until 5. There could be erratic strong downbursts
and high gusts almost anywhere at any time, and AM temps are in the low 50s so pretty sketchy especially
for Kiters. By PM I think less erratic winds, but you'll still want to keep a weather eye out for T-heads and
clear off if you see a white wall coming. There is some risk today, so each will have to assess their own
risk/reward tolerance. Have a look at the IR maps and if you see big dark blobs in the area you want
to ride, pick a different area, or stay home, and remember T-heads can bloom up quickly .

Tomorrow, and Tuesday, rainy and windless.
