3/30 Chicken CREEK West

Postby Jon Manwaring » Fri Mar 31, 2006 8:28 am

Marty and I got a short, but sweet session on the ridge on top of the hill. 12 M Frenzy for me Marty (I think) on 16.5 M Cabrinha. Light in the valley, almost just right up on top. Snow is starting to get soft, clear to the ground. Marty found a 4' hole to fall in. He stayed up on top and I went down to check out the movie set in the valley, no wind down there and had to pack up the kite and put the skins on to get back. Had a nice XC ski to the road. Used just about everything this WINTER, Foils, LEI's, skis, snowshoes. What a GREAT SEASON. Brian and the snow people will stretch it out for another 2-3 months. RUSH today for me.

I made the hole,
Jump gone bad,
I came down on my butt and broke through the top crust.
It felt like someone had stuffed me in a garbage can.
Only my legs from the knees down,
and my arms and head, were above the snow.
I had to use the kite to get out of the hole.
