Beat the traffic down south and arrived at Springville to SW wind. Having noticed a north push in SLC and off the GSL I took a gamble and headed out. Decided to check out Lincoln beach. Quite spectacular. The water is actually green with white caps(nw by that time). Beautiful setting. Looks like they are doing work to the area. Loads of dirt waiting. Grassy area. Picnic tables. Overnight camping. And best of all a giant flat water bay downwind of the marina that's probably a 1/4 mi. long. It looks insane. Kite paradise. Seems shallow. This spot is going to rock- maybe??? Lots of turkeys(fishermen). Not enough viento so I drove back to SSB. Alas, wind. When I got down to the beach there was a party goin on. CAMPFIRE, CARP, CORONAS. They actually drove down to the beach and made it. Not sure how. Were not happy to see the gringo. Tecate cans everywhere. Launched and had to walk right through the party flying my kite overhead. Careful not trip over fishin poles. Same great wind. Appears that lincoln could be a kite size or two smaller. Or maybe is just fills in later than ssb. Will have to check on that later. 15 more min. drive.
