DC 5/3

The Wednesday "bonus day" extended to DC. I spent the morning trying to ignore the gradually building N.E. wind, but as the gusts started registering in the 20's, I had to take a look. Pretty mellow when I got to Bridge Beach, so I rigged a 7.2 and wondered whether it would be enough. Not to worry! The wind kept building, and I spent much of the next 2 hours considerably overpowered. Gusty, but no more so than many S.W. days at the Island or SBB. A couple of careats about DCBB: (1.) there's still quite a bit of vegetation sticking up above the surface - the tops of bushes mostly, and not really much of a problem; you can sail right on through (2.) the green slime (algae?) is getting quite thick in the launch area and is starting to stink.
