Matt and I rode our sleds to Lake Creek to kite for the first time this year.
The conditions were powder all around and nice sunny skies,
it just didn't last long enough.
So we rode the sleds until almost dark
in some awesome powder.

Matt just took a avy 1 class a few weeks ago.
We tested our (my) knowledge and range of our beacons.
always checked angles and direction of slopes anywhere around us.

We rode in the meadows and stayed away from any hills.
Carving pow turns that feel just like downhill skiing.
It is so deep, when we stepped off the sleds
we sank to our stomachs.

And it turns out Utah kiter Eric G was one of the Utah Mtn Guides teaching the Avy course. We have some pretty knowledgeable folks in our kite crew.
