2/16 Strawberry 21M

I rode at Strawberry River for a couple hours yesterday afternoon. Wind was good. I thought there would be more powder after this week's storms, but I would say there was 4" to 8" of fresh. The coverage is either good or terrible at Strawberry right now. What I mean is that on the flats and hills that have coverage, you can ride without getting caught in the sage. However, the areas with sage have little or no snow. I tried riding through a couple sage patches to find myself getting hung up on the grass underneath the sage. It would take a good storm to really cover up these weak spots. So, if you stick to the obvious covered areas, you are golden. However, the riding area at Strawberry River is dramatically reduced compared to a normal year. I still had a great time, I rode by myself, John Guay showed up just as I was leaving. He looked like he was riding nicely powdered on a Zephr.
