7/14 thru 7/28 Gorge

I was not sure how this trip to the gorge would work out for me. I was just 14 weeks out from a knee replacement. Doc had said green and blue runs would be fine. First Day we arrived, was full on 3.7, so I tought best to wait. Next day I got my requested mellower 4.7 day at the Hatchery, and gave it a go. I was pleasantly surprised, and my shiney new knee did just fine. I was only able to stay out about an hour, not because of my knee, but just not in the best of shape. It turned out though, that I sailed all but 3 days. So I was very happy about that, since I was not even sure that I would sail at all....waahoooo. Linda on the other hand was a true Power Chick and sailed all days. She was really amazing to be this strong, at this stage of her recovery. She even did her first 3.3 sail day and did great. We both are looking forward to our next trip, and plan on doing a whole bunch more sailing.
It was really great, to hang out with alot of our Utah friends, and see such big smiles out on the river. The time there just goes by too fast.
