I went early because the wind looked like it was on, but it died by the time I arrived at 10:30. So, I went to Daniel's Summit Lodge and had some breakfast. When I got back to Strawberry River the wind had turned on, but it was light. I set up my 21m. Fred and Andy arrived just as I was getting ready to launch. I looped my way to the gliding hill. The snow was incredibly deep (2 1/2 feet deep in some places) and incredibly light - pure Wasatch fluff. I rode with enough power to mess up the gliding hill pretty well for about 90 minutes. I would have liked more power, but it still was awesome. Then the wind shut down due to a storm cell over Daniel's Summit Lodge. Fred had also launched a 21m and was more than half way to the gliding hill when the wind died. We waited for around 30 minutes or so and I decided to pack up my kite. Of course, as soon as I had it all packed, I see Fred's kite rise into the air. I unpacked the kite and launched it. I had enough power to loop up the hill. I figured that it would be easier to fly to the road, so I took off from the top and landed next to the road. It was not the epic day I was hoping for, but still a keeper.
