2/15 Strawberry River 12m

Postby jason morton » Sat Feb 16, 2013 10:28 am

My inaugural snowkite session of the year. Wind was strong at times. Good enough for 12m but the 14m would have served me better. Rode from 2:30 to 4:30 or so. It was good to see Jon M. and hear some tales of sailing the South Pacific. I think Leo hurt his shoulder? Hope you are ok? Snow is pretty wind packed and crusty but some soft spots to be found for sure. Definitely looked better there then down at Chicken Creek. The whole crew was riding CC. Good to see those guys down there and kiting tough. Billy and Don went for the late evening sled sesh.

I rode at the north end of the reservoir, near the visitor center for couple of hours before i head over to the river. the snow is still good. but the access from the visitor center is tricky. i ended up having to walk on soft snow for about 50 yards or so.

i landed in a strange position on a glide and my head caused injury on my should! just some muscle pains. nothing major. will be back in action in couple of days. 8)

good to see you again, Jason.
