I couldn’t bear the thought of driving to Evanston again so headed south. There was the usual huge shadow over the bay and had to drive back to the other side of the mountain to gauge sail size. Shocked when my meter read 22 gusting 38. Went back to the calm bay and decided I was going to need the 6M sail and the 115 L board just to get out to the channel. Had nearly 2 hours of perfect sailing, ripping as fast as the S-Type can go. I think Mona’s waves are the best I sail on locally as the crests are the furthest apart. Finally got cartwheeled by a huge gust and when I came to my senses the wind was gone. I barely managed to bob back to shore with one foot on each side of the mast. My only company was some well-behaved jet skiers. Sweet afternoon.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
