1/11/14 Willard 9m kite, skis

I decided to try a little desperation kiting so I headed out to Willard. Our kite beach was just sand, no snow. Our little bay looked a little watery. So I went over to the boat launch parking lot and parked by some ice fisherman. I talked to them and found out the ice is 11" thick so I decided that was good enough. I found a little snow patch on the beach right by the water (ice) on the north side of the marina entrance. (Outside the marina). That made a nice spot for setting up the kite. I then went out on the bay and flew back and forth. (No snow to speak of on the ice) The winds ended up being 30-35 while I was there so it was cranking. All in all, fun time for desperation kiting.
