Short but sweet. Two major impulses with peeks into the 20s, one starting at about 3:00, the second at about 4:00. I couldn't make it to the beach in time for the first but was on the water when the second came through. Rigging in the lull between the two impulses, things did not look promising. Timp was covered by a massive black cloud, and what wind there was was coming through as widely scattered puffs. Not much better as I hit the water at 4, but then the sun broke through, the wind started building and filling in, and for the next 40 min the wind was as steady as it ever gets at DC. And then it just about stopped. The water level has risen noticeably since Friday, making the walk to the water's edge significantly shorter.
