Predicting 15mph which would have been fine. But wow, the airport was 22 and I was reading 20 mph windlines at the corner of the dike. Figured it was the annual rip and fly 6.0 UL day. Oh well. Ended up rigging 7.0 and medium board for a few rides, switched to the big board for a few more. Finally put 8.5 on and figured I would be flying. Only got 2 barely powered rides and quit. The wind was less than 10 by then. But the airport was 17 which should have been perfect (except it was also WNW). I figured I was too far south for west winds, thinking of Rocky Point, but going home there were no whitecaps on the north end of the lake.2nd day in a row I probably missed a wind event by waiting for it to hit 50 degrees. It was 49 when I got there and 50 when I left.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
