Wed. Lincoln Beach 12m Crossbow

Was able to ride powered from about 5 to 8. Surprised to find myself the only one on the water. I figured I had an early start and someone would show up later. Since nobody came to say otherwise, I boosted some 20ft airs. I did however end on a bad note. My chicken loop came out of my harness and after riding for so long my arms were jell-o. I had to let the kite go. I feel for all those I have seen end up in the reeds. The kite blew a half a mile downwind and I swam and walked in the mud to get it. A wave runner was kind enough to pick me up and bring me into shore. Problem was as he dropped me off he gunned his wave runner out of there and he caught my lines. About 20m of lines ended up wrapped around his impellor and his brand new ride. He told me it was his first day out. My kite ended up with a tear, 4 cut lines and the right bridle cut. Not how I had planned to end my session. So a reminder to everyone to watch your lines closely around those waverunners. Would have been a good day.

WaveRunners suck - literally. A similar thing happened to me years ago when I was teaching my daughter to windsurf. I had a rope tied to the back footstrap so that I could reel the board back in at the end of her reaches. A few minutes into the lesson a brand new waverunner (first day on the water!) drove over my rope, and a second later it stopped dead in its tracks with a mass of fused plastic wrapped around the impeller shaft. I reeled it in.
