8/12- Carl, Marty and I arrived and hit the water immediately. Me and Marty rode from the sandbar to cheap(utah) beach and back. Really fun. We drag raced Carl at the event site.

8/13-Astoria Ft. Stevens downwinder. Awesome session on surfboard.
8/14-Manzanita-Another great downwinder day with heavy waves.
8/15-7m downwinder from Viento to the sandbar. Some guys on 4m kites.
8/16-Sailed 4.0 at cheap beach, kind of. Got one reach and the wind got holey. Haven't windsurfed in 3 yrs. Now I know why.
8/17-Sandbar 9m session on surfboard.
8/18-Sauvies island. Very light wind. Nude beach. Naked guy flying foil getting dragged down the sand in sitting position with sack dragging. Not a pretty sight. Should have hit Ft. Stevens with Marty or done Stevenson easterlies.
8/19-No wind. Head back to slc. All in all a great trip and long over due.

Jason,
Fun riding with you.
Wish there had been more rides together,,,
but I don't care for the zoo at the spit,,,
and love the rides at Rufus/Wall.

I saw a whale spout, 3 times, in the ocean on one downwinder.
The last day at the coast was epic "in my mind"
It took the whole ride home to "decompress"

We're doing South Padre Island Oct 14-22
The condo is full, but sure would like you (and other locals) to join in.

Marty, great to read your daily reports from your trips. New Years goals (dont believe in resolutions) get comfortable on the columbia river (just a river) with many trips next summer, and get out on the oregon coast.

We have a time share down at south padre island. next time I can book it to fit more locals. cant wait to read your report.

jason's just chapped about sailing because Ken Winner jumped clean over him on his kite. we watched it all unfold from cheap beach. he got set up.
the other thing is that jason was on a 4.0 and everyone knows that in all the seasons that he has sailed the gorge, his trusty 4.7 was always his weapon of choice, regardless of what anyone else was on. for him it is say no to 4.0. meanwhile i was wound tight on a 4.2 and many of you know that i sometimes sail kinda powered. that gives some perspective on the kind of sheet jason likes best. knowing him the day will come when he wants to rip on a pole board and, no doubt, he will.
