10/15 DC IB 106 and 7.2

Upon arriving at DC it looked good, filled in white caps all the way across. Angie was getting good rides on her 6.5, so I went back and forth on what to rig. Pulled out the 7.2 gear, and then the 9.0, then back to the 7.2 whichh turned out to be a good choice. I was surprised at how steady the wind was, and not to many holes, and best of all it lasted all afternoon. It was a good day to just try and go fast, and keep up with the boys.
Dimitri....you are a brave man! Way to go for it! I whimped on on the big gear, in the strong wind, I didn't want to work quite that hard, just wanted to BAF. When I do ride the formula gear, I also, take lot's of water to drink. I think I would faint with out it, since the upwind, downwind, is such a work out for me.
Over all a really nice fall day of sailing. It was fun to see so many sails out on the water, racing back and forth. I stayed plenty warm until the sun went behind the mountain, then my hands and feet started to go numb and cold. That was time for me to call it quits, and head for home, with a smile on my face.

Keep up with the boys? We're trying to keep up with you. Sometimes I think I should get my slalom gear out at DC more.

ps. don't let Dimo fool you, I think he's been sailing like that for a long time on his other gear, and now he's adjusting just fine to the formula commitment.
