I convinced Patrick Harwood to join me in the harbor. I rigged a 4.2 and was plenty powered and overpowered. Full penguin suit, warm in the suit and freezing out of it.
The swell weren't as big as I have seen but still the direction of the wind made for great starboard ramps and port side waves. My Dakine cold water mits pinched my wrists so much that my grip became weak really quick. Otherwise I would have stayed out another hour or so. Any suggestions on cold water gloves that don't kill your grip?
If Wednesday turns out to be as winding as forecasted then I think we are in for another great Utah Lake session.
Patrick decided to 86 his boots and didn't survive very long with numb feet. He vowed to make his next session Maui.
Lastly, I spoke with John Dubock last night (in Mojave.) Saturaday brought them 4.2 winds and Sunday 4.5 winds. Shorty wetsuits are too hot according to him and the water is still in the 70's. Articwinds probably needs to go there instead.
