The bad and the ugly (or maybe the ugly and the merely bad). Saturday, the wind blew (in rapid succession) from the south, the north, and everywhere in between, with speed varying from 3 to 30. Despite which Paul Bradshaw and Jerry Giles apparently managed to get in some good reaches. Sunday the wind direction wasn't quite as unstable but was unusual, southeast, hence off shore at Sailboat Beach. At the launch site, the wind was puffy and, for the most part, quite weak. Protruding from Wallsburg Bay, however, was a tongue of dark water flecked with whitecaps, which, once I slogged over to it, provided all the power I could handle with an 8.5. Jerry Giles, on his formula-style board and 8.8 Aerotech, stayed out the longest, and John Dubock had the good sense not to set up.
