Rode from the North jetti. The south is closed because it is underwater. The park stacked big rocks on top of it so it won't wash away. Way to go Army core of engineers. How hard is it to design a jetti above the high water mark? When I head out there today I will tell them to call Radius engineering instead.
Besides that, the water is really high. The bathrooms by the kiter launch have been sand bagged for flooding.

Anyway, I sailed my JP 100 liter with an Ezzy 6.2 SE for over an hour. The wind lulled for a bit so I switched to my bigger board and sailed another 45 minutes fully powered.

Check out my second half on with my GPS log.

launch improvements

Postby Carl Christensen » Fri Apr 28, 2006 12:24 pm

The beach on the bay looks great but is loaded with goat's head thorns, beware, booties or flip-flops mandatory. Too bad. There's sand and everything but the area has been a tad neglected. It may be something that just needs a little maintenance. Just because we don't have motorized watercraft doesn't mean we don't deserve some consideration and it would be a lot less expensive than building a poorly conceived jetty or pouring concrete launch ramps. Maybe ambassador Dubock can start conversations with the ranger to get a feel w/regards to possibilities. A basic sandbag ramp at the angle of the jetty would be simple too.

http://www.utahlakeview.com/ talked to the website owners about adding Deer Creek soon, could happen! Please hit their website, its a near hobby for them. No chance of windtalkers on the cam, pricey so far.

If we see a Ranger today at UT Lake Harbor I'd be glad to pitch the UWA to them. Its going off at 21 at PVU at 1pm.
