My son Justin and I got an early start intending to drive to Skyline. When we hit Heber the meters at Strawberry were in the 20's and the skies were relatively clear so we headed to the River. We rode from around 10am to noon with good visibility, good snow and steady wind. As the clouds and snow picked up the winds died off by around 2pm. Not sure if they came back later. The cover is pretty good and the new snow was creamy on top of the old surface. Still some sage and bushes on the hills but very rideable. Just a caution there is a lot of snowmobile traffic on the weekend. Looked like someone left their lines out while they took a break and a snowmobile got tangled in them.
