After 2 yrs, I finally made it out with the kite to hit some snow...the conditions looked like they were perfect at strawbs. I arrived around noon to find some new snow and no wind. I drove from one parking lot to the other, spent an hour or so exchanging stories with a new kite buddy, saw Big Wave Dave and the others roll up and bounce from one parking lot to the other, and at 2pm I headed back to SLC even more amped to get back to strawbs again...still in the love with the sport that seriously toys with the emotions. I was glad to read at least Andrew was able to fly his 17m!

Saturday left a LOT to be desired. The gopher farts started firing at about 3:00 or so. I rigged the 15M and got rides. Well . . if having a kite in the air and sliding across the snow at McDonalds Drive-through speeds can be considered rides. The good news is that there was about 4 inches of fresh. That combined with whatever has fallen since should make for a little better base up there when the wind comes back. Good to see Ty and Andrew up there . . I hate suffering alone!
