6/3 Rush 17M Silver Arrow & 20M Waroo

Postby Kenny » Sat Jun 03, 2006 2:22 pm

Woke up at 6:30 and consulted the mesonet since Craig was sleeping-in. I could see that the front had passed as there was strong North wind on the lake and in the West Desert, but the only north wind in Toole was at Rush and Stockton Bar - nothing in Toole, Lake Point, Salt Ponds. I decided to head out and catch it before it died off. I did not have to worry as the wind lasted all morning. Flew the Silver Arrow even though I planned on never flying a foil at Rush because if it ever dropped it would be a mossy mess. It was the perfect choice, rode powered up for 3 hours before switching to the less powerful 20M Waroo. The Silver Arrow floats like a paraglider on the jumps - loads of fun!

Around 11 the gang started showing up - Marty, Mark, Jon, and Spencer. The wind was a lot lighter the last hour I rode. Hopefully, it picked up some for the afternoon crowd. Rush is plush

Rush was plush,
all day long,
The last rides I had, ended at 7:00.

The water has dropped at an astonishing rate,
in the last 2 weeks.

Is it deep enough to windsurf?

Don't blame it on the hip chipr. You ski Alta everyday during the ski season. We know this. Rush is not really sailable anymore. I suppose you could sail with a small wave fin, but the reaches would be short, and you would have to pick the weeds off. If you came out, you could have the satisfaction of knowing you were the last guy to sail Rush for the year. Bring beer just is case.
