SSB Friday night

Postby stevejmayer » Sat Jul 26, 2014 7:59 am

I arrived at SSB last night (Friday) around 5 to strong steady north winds. Got out on my 6 meter kite for a really fun session as the clouds engulfed the sky. I saw virga and rain showers to the south and decided to come in, others were getting ready and after letting them know why I came in, decided not to launch. Lightning strikes drove the last Kiter in and we waited it out. Around 7 looked good again. Launched with nice North breeze then zilch, shut down And went south. Driving home all the paragliders were enjoying a perfect North at the Point. Moral of the story, Utah valley can be very different than SL valley AND, take up Paragliding with Cloud 9!

Good job to all out there for making good decisions on when to come in or hold off.
