10/18 BWB

Postby Ralph Morrison » Sun Oct 19, 2014 12:24 pm

The wind came up relatively early, smooth and steady. A group of us went up and did laps around Island Beach. I was hoping to see some windsurfers but there were none around. Riding up there reminded me of old times though. Billy seemed particularly frisky. Todd was getting big air with stylish grabs. Jim claimed he had a sore knee but stayed out on the water longer than anybody. Mike turned his kite inside out but made a good self rescue. Many more on the water having a good time.

A swan flew over at the end of the day.

Edit: The photo was cropped when it uploaded. You'll have to use your imagination even harder to see the swan.

Thursday to Sunday, DC gave up the goods everyday. It has been good. I think there was a lone windsurfer on Saturday.

There was, indeed, a lone windsurfer, both Saturday and today - me. 9.5M both days. Pretty light today, but yesterday was a perfect 9.5 day, light but fairly steady. Ran out of gas about the time Ralph and company appeared at IB.
