The west desert rips again. 22g29 on the web when I got there which would normally be 6.0 at high water and 7.0 where it is now. But I rigged the 6.0 and was wildly powered from the 1st reach. I was stiff and still half asleep and I was not ready for wild gusts and hold-on-for-dear-life jibes. Still, the adrenaline got pumping fast and I was having a blast taking the little iSonic race from 10 to 35 mph in 10 yards. The acceleration potential of windsurf rigs still amazes me. By 10:00 it had gone up a couple of MPH and I was off to the races on the Tangerine 5.2; the color is hot enough for an extra couple of MPH. By then I had too much blood in my Ibuprofen system and the bottle was empty. I used Oreo’s as a substitute and by 11:30 was on the 4.7 in +30 gusts. Near 1:00 the meter shows 34g35 and that is when I started thinking about bagging it. I actually remembered the 4.2 this time but by then I was having back spasms. I picked up a bag of broken glass and beer cans and headed home. Trailers and 18-wheelers were being pulled off on the shoulder to survive. Strangely the wind at the house was only maxing out at 10. What a way to end October.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
