Agreed. It was, and frequently is, an adventure at Grantsville. I got rides in all variations of east, west, north and south, often on the same reach. It seemed like I was riding at right angles at times, straight parallel to the beach, and fully heated. Hats off to Ken and John for the mega sessions, especially Ken, 8 am to @5pm, holy speed fest. I got worked from 11:30 -2:00 and bed hasn't felt so good in a long time. Most, but not all of the puffs were rideable and it was great to be on the small boards.
BTW, we need to get some GPS speeds out there on the G-ville version of a french ditch. As Ken pointed out, it's smooth and fast. Pin your ears back and pull the trigger boys. And that's what he was doing when he exploded. Man, I was in the water at the north end of the lake, (derigging waist deep to keep my gear off of and protect the sage-eus brush-eus, ugllius- rockus, and shatterus-bud-light-eus) when I saw him go down and it looked like something musta broke. That 5.7 was really pulling when it let loose. I watched and John jetted over almost immediately but apparently everything was okay because he continued on past. Way to go.
Thinking about riding sweet swell for a change at Provo Harbor today if it works out. Ya' all come on out if it cranks up. Should be up sometime in the afternoon I guess.
