Dudsville doesn't do it again!!

Up early and on the phone with DK at 6:00am looking for a repeat at GVille. Windmeter readings at Gv weren't quite as good as yesterday but with Stockton bar in the mid twentys gusting to 35 it appeared things would fill in as expected so off we went. When I reached lake point the wind was ripping as I got off SR201 and on to I-80 and I was totally hooked thinking at least 5.0M sails. Conditions at the Gville weren't as good as expected but optimism for DK and me was high and we rigged 6.0s (The old fox Ken O rigged a 7.0). I was so delusional I even took an 85Liter board down to the waters edge.. just in case. Ken was getting lots of rides well DK and I were getting a few round trips on our 115liter boards and 6.0 sails. By 10:00am I finally came out of my euphoric stupor and realized we were being screwed by the wind gods. BTW whatever I was drinking last night has been thrown away.....Cheers!!

One of those strange days. It was blowing all the way to G'Ville and all of the way home. I recall once driving to Sulphur and it was windy the whole way. Got to the reservoir and nothing. Waited all afternoon with Marty and a couple of others while it was blowing at the Evanston airport and at First Divide in the 20 to 30 range. We kept saying it will be here any minute. Didn't happen.

At DC today I had the flip side of Grant and Duane's problem - rigged a 7, shoulda rigged a 6. Got some screaming fast reaches but would have been much more comfortable (and probably faster) if I had paid more attention to what George (6.5) and Judy ( 5.8 ) were rigging. As Craig predicted, the wind was very gusty.
