I always look for SLC airport in double digits and Stockton gusting +20 so I was curious if airport 8/Stockton g18 was enough for a big sail. Figured it was 50/50 8.5 or skunk. Got there at 8:30 with the last windmeter reading of 14g18. But there was a lot of wind on the water already and the windmeter shows it was already in the 20’s when I hit the water. Ditched any ideas of 8.5 and 135L and went out on the 7.0 and 115L. Only lasted 10 minutes and had to put the 86L race board on. Perfect, love my Isonic. Sailed for 1.5 hours on the little board, screaming reaches shore to shore, often wishing I had rigged the 6.0, then went for another half hour back on the 115L before I called it. Great morning. But where did the cold come from, only 40 when I was debating whether to go. Maybe that is why it blew so hard, no weather maps indicated it would blow that hard. Also nice to have the fish eagle back. Hooray for Grants.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
