7/4 Grants 6.5m 85L

Another fine morning at Grants, as Ken, Dimitri, and Jans joined in. Pretty wild wind lines and quite a bit gustier than yesterday. Anything would have worked, a 5 something, a 6 something, or in Ken's case a 7.0. Again, not many fisherman, or boats on the lake. A fine way to spend a 4th of July morning!

DC served up a decent session as well, although unlike the sailors at Grants, we had lots of company from wake surfers, SUPers, kayakers, etc. The wind was actually fairly steady (7.0 for me) but the chop created by all the boat traffic was, well, challenging. After an hour, I'd had enough and was able to give me parking space, about the only one left at DCCB, to Judy, who reported that she enjoyed a fun hour of sailing but that the beach was a "zoo".

Yep, good fun. I was on a 5.7 and launched later than John and Ken but got some good rides. 6.5 was likely the right call. Not many motorhomes out, and the lake isn't too far down, compared to where it will be.
