Desperate times call for desperate actions, like going down to DC when my anemometer is reading in the single digits, much of the time in the low single digits! Enough promise when I got to IB to suggest that rigging my biggest gear might not be totally futile. Got on the water a little before 2 and caught a puff that sent me planing out about as far as the Island - and then schlogged for the better part of the next half hour, at which point John Dubock arrived on the scene. The rest of the session was characterized by very brief gusts, a few of them sustained enought get us planing and a single gust to 20 at about 3. No epic!! But better than nothing, I guess.
