9/30 DC Island Beach 9.5, 8'8" Sumo

Got a call from The Rock Star about 1:15. The Tribe was headed for DC.
Couldn't pass on such a beautiful day. Drove up to Sailboat beach, to find
John D, Jon M, Steve, George Ward, and a few others watching South
puffs roll over the Dam. Stuart called again to tell me Linda was rigging
a 7.5 at Island Beach, and I like the longer fetch down there, so off
I went to find Sarah, Linda, Paul, Angie, Gunars, and Stuart. Rigged
the big stuff and took off planing. Best moment of the afternoon was
a cranked up ride where I looked down wind to find Sarah pulled up
next to me on her formula gear. Riding along side by side raked and
ripping with the warm sun and the colored background. It would have made a killer picture
(too bad there were no Neil Pryde or Sailworks photogs around).
I had to bolt early, but when I left at 5PM, Paul and Angie were planing
away from the beach again.
