6/9 Lincoln 10m Monsoonz

Figured that I would go for a drive and check out Utah Lake last night. It was either kite or go to a wedding reception. I thought I'd end up sitting on the beach watching the rednecks burn stuff. The Provo airport said 9 mph, but the point was nice enough for the paragliders. To my surprise Utah county was windy and the flags were blowing all the way to Lincoln, although a bit too much west at the south end. As you make that final turn into Lincoln, where you can finally see if there are kites flying, you know if you've made a bad decision if there isn't anything in the air. I wasn't let down when I saw a 13m Waroo in the air. There were two guys jlearning to kite and no one else around. Where was everyone? I guessed people would start showing up, or everyone already had their fill at Rush. I ended up putting up a 10m and riding by myself from about 6:30 till it was dark. The wind was too light for my fat a** to ride a 10m, but wanted to give this kite a try. Would've been nice to have at least one other guy out to compare to. I'll live. It was a nice session.
