arrived 1:30 to light but sailable conditions. on the water @ 2:00 and we Sailed 2+ hours in powered up conditions with a couple of trapeze rides. Then as I expected the wind shut off lightning strikes were poping everywhere. I got off the water FAST and took my wife's suggestion to put the boat on the trailer. Then the sky became really dark and the wind blew like no tomorrow. The lake capped in seconds and all hell broke loose. It was freeking nuking. The wind was so strong that sand and mist was making it to the pavilions near windsurfer beach. The waves were 3-4 feet and looked like the ocean. I would say the wind was 45+ with gusts that were much higher. (50-75 mph range) This was a true Utah microburst, but I would classify it as a MACROburst. The wind stayed up for an unusally loooooong time. (like 1 hour) Later I broke down the boat and split.
